No Spiders or Visigoths Allowed!

Before leaving for Japan, we repacked the majority of our DVD collection into big folders to bring them with us. We figured since we would have no TV, no Netflix, no access to Region 1 DVD's for rent or purchase and no cell phones for the year that it would be nice to have an easy/free entertainment outlet. And.... we were right!

I am amazed at how many movies and TV shows we own that I had not seen in a long time.

Life Is Beautiful (La vita è bella) was one of them. It was the 1997 Roberto Benigni Oscar winning film about a father's imagination turning the concentration camps of the Holocaust into a game for his son. I watched it again this weekend. What a beautiful and well-made movie. I laughed. I cried. It was better than Cats.

All of you with DVDs or VHS tapes that you have not watched in years
, consider this a call to arms. Watch one. Remember what it was that made you buy it in the first place. You'll be glad you did. (or, I guess, you will suffer belated buyers remorse)

If you don't have the time to watch a movie, then just check out our updated photo site.

Since when can a mere movie
be as entertaining as a
breathtaking sojourn with a
feline???? How quickly they
forget. . .
