Zen Magic?

Today (among other things that I'll probably mention later) we went to a Vegetarian Festival. While on a long line for some delicious falafel, I saw a sign advertising "Zen Magic Free" and had to check it out.

A Zen Buddhist was manning the booth and for some reason he was wearing a clown nose. Interesting. The "magic" worked as follows:

I had to stand on a mat with my shoes off. He walked around me a few times observing my relaxed stance. He told me that I probably had shoulder tension and lower back pain (which I coincidentally did from standing in line for so long) because I had incorrect posture and a non-Zen walking style. He indicated my incorrect focus through two "tests." One was having me put my thumb and index fingers to try to resist his pulling them apart. The other was raising my arms and resisting his attempt to push them down. Eventually, he was able to do both.

Then, he sprayed two pieces of pink string with "Magic Zen holy water" imbued with the power of "Ki". He wrapped these strings around each of my big toes and the toes next to them. He asked that I put my shoes back on and walk around paying special attention to the "power of the Ki" and using "those two fingers" as I walked. I did this.

Then, when I returned to the mat, he asked if I felt any different or more powerful after my proper Zen walk. I didn't. Then, he "proved" my newfound power by repeating the two tests from before using what he claimed to be "the same force." But, this time he was unable to move my fingers or arms. Wow!

The "magic" could have been mine to keep for the low, low price of ¥1000 for a bottle of Zen holy water and two of these strings to tie on my toes. But, for some reason, I declined the offer and returned to the falafel line. Thankfully, the falafel was magical!
