My recent Japanese cooking experiment was a success. I made onigiri, a popular rice based meal or side dish. It's really simple. The only real ingredient is Japanese sticky rice mixed with any of a number of fillers. In this case, I used tsukemono (pickled things.) First you make the rice. Then, you stir the filler into the rice. Next, mold the rice mixture into triangles or ovals. Finally, you wrap the shapes with nori (seaweed) strips. Like I said, it's very easy.
I'm just happy that it turned out so cute ..... and so delicious!
