Since Tuesday, I have been feeling very under the weather. I've been suffering from, let's say, "stomach problems." When I wasn't feeling better yesterday afternoon, Renee and I set out to find a doctor. We called an International helpline to get the name of a clinic with English services that would be open.
6:15 p.m. -- We arrived at the clinic and checked in. After waiting about five minutes, a nurse came and took my temperature.
6:30 p.m. -- I get to see the doctor, who speaks enough English for us to get by. He interviews me and gives me an examination, makes a diagnosis, and write me a prescription. He also refers us to a clinic closer to our home where there is more English support.
6:45 p.m. -- I check out. I have the National Health Insurance coverage, so my final bill is 1030¥ ($9.30). The secretary takes me next door to a pharmacy to help me fill the prescription, which takes about 10 minutes. The NHI also covers prescriptions, so the cost is only 560¥ ($5.06).
6:58 p.m. -- Renee and I leave and head home. Less than 45 minutes and $15 to get treated and a prescription filled!
One day later and I'm feeling much better, but I still can't believe how easy and quick the experience was.

Hey Chris, Did you hear about the new theory of the universe based on E8? I thought immediately of your current job. :)
I did. Unfortunately, I'm neither an expert on physics or on Lie Groups, so I'm adopting a "wait-and-see" philosophy. Still, I'm optimistic...
