Sunny Day

Here's some proof that Connecticut can have weather that doesn't involve rain. Finally, we have some blue sky and sun mixed in with our clouds.
To take advantage of this (potentially) rare gift, Xavier and I went for a long walk around Wesleyan. We both enjoyed the sun, the heat, the breeze and just the chance to be exercising a bit outside. What a nice day!

Atsui desu ne!

Today is the second consecutive day where I have not heard a single person say this phrase. And, I am SO EXCITED! "Atsui desu ne!" means "It sure is hot, huh?" and it functions as much as a commentary on the heat and humidity as a common summer greeting.

These past two days have been nice. The temperature barely touched 90F and the humidity was a bit lower too. No standing directly in front of the fan, no multiple showers a day just to cool off, no sticking to all of the furniture, not requiring a liter of ice water just to walk out of the front door... Maybe, just maybe, fall and cooler weather are really on their way. Thank God!
